Advisement Services
The College of Business & Economics Office of Undergraduate Advising provides services that support and promote student success. We provide advising for majors and minors in the main campus CBE Undergraduate Programs. We assist students from admission to graduation, support their academic growth, and engage them as lifetime members of the college learning community. Our services and programs support students' smooth transition into college, their transformation into owners of their academic careers, and promotes professional development.
Advising
Individual invitations will be sent to a student's . Students can also sign up on Bay Advisor.
Students do not need to schedule an appointment to attend a Drop-In Virtual Academic Advising Session. Only for current undergraduate students with a major or minor in the College of Business & Economics.
Meet with an advisor virtually by following the steps below:
- Login to your account using your Net ID and password.
- Select Join a Meeting or Join and enter Meeting ID: 510 885 3323.
- Once signed in, you will enter the Virtual Waiting Room. Please test your audio to ensure you have a connection. You will need to be able to hear and speak to the advisor.
- Academic Advisors will meet with students in the order in which students enter the Virtual Waiting Room. You will meet one-on-one with an advisor once one becomes available.
It is highly recommended that you join us using your computer as it allows for both advisor and student to share screens as necessary. However, if you do not have access to a computer, you may join us by:

Students may also schedule appointments on Bay Advisor.
Students will be invited to have their first advising appointment with their Main advisor. Individual invitations will be sent to a student's . Students can also sign up on Bay Advisor.

Contact us at cbeadvising@csueastbay.edu using your CSUEB Horizon email address and include your Net ID and full name. For questions that require us to look up your student record, replies will only be sent to your Horizon email address.
Phone:
Call us at (510) 885-3323 between 9am-5pm, Monday through Friday. For questions that require us to look up your student record, a security question will be asked.
In person:
Visit us in the Valley Business & Technology (VB or VBT) building, room 129, Monday through Friday between 9am-5pm.
Running Late
Advising appointments are scheduled for 10-30 minute sessions, so it is recommended that you arrive 10 minutes early. If you are running late, please email cbeadvising@csueastbay.edu to notify your advisor.
Cancellations
Appointments will be cancelled for students who are more than 5 minutes late. If you cannot keep an appointment, please cancel at least 24 hours in advance. Students who must cancel with less than 24 hour notice must call or email to request the appointment be cancelled.
No Show Policy
Students who fail to contact our office to cancel their appointment will be marked as a no-show. Because advising appointments are in high demand, if a student is marked as a no-show twice in one term, he/she will be prevented from making further appointments for the rest of the term.
If you are interested in attending CSUEB for a future term pre-admission counseling is available by appointment only to all undergraduate prospective students at the Welcome Center on the Hayward 91探花. During your appointment, an enrollment counselor will review your transcript and discuss your admissibility to the University.
Email visit@csueastbay.edu Monday-Friday from 9 am-5 pm to make an appointment with a counselor. You will need to secure your unofficial transcripts before meeting with a counselor in order to determine admission eligibility. You can also e-mail your questions. We also encourage you to visit Future Students website for detailed information.
The Online Business Program Office offers similar advising and support services to the students in the Online Degree Completion Program for a B.S. in Business Administration (Online BSBA). To inquire about these services please contact them at (510) 885-3376 or cbe_bsba_online@csueastbay.edu. More information is also available .
Please note that students CANNOT take courses in both the Online BSBA program and the on-campus Business Administration program simultaneously.

Explore program options. Attend an information session, visit the Center for International Education (CIE) office in the Student and Faculty Support building, Room 102, or read about our programs on this Study Abroad. Go to the host university's website to get a feel for the location (urban/suburban) and academics (classes in English, with locals, etc.) of the university.

Determine which program best suits you in regards to your major, timing, and interests. Be sure to speak with family, friends, and professors.

Schedule an appointment with the International Programs Office. Schedule online through Bay Advisor or call (510) 885-2880. Come prepared with questions for your Exchange Program Advisor.

Make a list of classes you would likely take while abroad (see program for specific courses).

Talk to your academic advisor to see which classes could apply to your major/minor/option or concentration and to complete any necessary paperwork.

Review the program costs. If you receive Financial Aid speak with a financial aid counselor. Bring a brochure and cost estimates with you.

Fill out the appropriate application for your desired program. Be aware of deadlines and feel free to ask our Study Abroad Advisor questions!
- Read through Disqualification & Probation, which guides you through what your status means, how to qualify for reinstatement, repeating courses, and general questions related to disqualification.
- Schedule an appointment with a counselor to see the steps needed for reinstatement. Please email readmission@csueastbay.edu with your full name, NetID, and your availability.
- Upon readmission, schedule an appointment with CBE Pioneer Success Coach, Ali Karayel on or by emailing ali.karayel@csueastbay.edu.
- After scheduling the appointment, submit the for a list of your remaining major requirements.
