Sustainability Leadership Program

The purpose of the Sustainability Leaders Program (SLP) is to develop a generation of sustainability leaders by equipping Cal State East Bay students with skills, leadership talents, and connections through paid internships and faculty mentored research experiences. The program will prioritize in its approach to equity, social justice, and community impact, across multiple disciplines. This is an exciting opportunity for students to develop their skills, knowledge, and understanding of the complex challenges and unique solutions in our community to build a more sustainable and environmentally just world!

What Were Looking For

  • Enthusiastic and committed students interested in gaining experience in the field of sustainability and environmental justice.
  • Open to current undergraduate and graduate students of any major.

What You'll Do

  • Year-long research/internship placement with partnered business or professional mentor (3-5 hours per week, 12-20 hours per month)
  • Twice a month meetings (face-to-face and/or via Zoom) with fellow SLP scholars and Faculty Director
  • Complete a final portfolio and presentation summarizing your experience and new understanding
